10 reasons why I do not sell anything.
I have been trying out various ways of making money online for a few years and have decided what I like and what I do not like. The first experiece that I ever had with making money online was through Ebay. I started up an account only to buy things, but soon realized that I had a lot of things that I didn’t want or need anymore. I put the items on ebay and made a few dollars here and there. I was excited that I was making money, but was not making enough to really brag about.
I tried buying and selling products once, and I lost money. I even sold virtual currencies for online computer games, and even though I made some good money, Ebay costs were high, paypal got a cut, and then Ebay decided to ban the sale of virtual currency.
I was stumped as to how I could make money online. I tried a few more things such as paid survey websites, paid to surf programs, and also type at home programs. Everything I tried paid, but I was unhappy with $1 or $2 per day for 5 hours of work. I needed something more. That is why I started making websites. Now for the 10 reasons I do not sell anything.
10. Ebay Fees - this one is self explanatory
9. Paypal Fees - They take a few percent for every transaction and it adds up over time…
8. Maintaining a products page - It is very hard to update your page as products are sold
7. Storage issues - I don’t like filling up my house with products that might not sell
6. Providing Customer Support - Having to spend hours answering emails is irritating
5. People would rather get things for free, so that is what I do with this site
4. I can make more with affiliate marketing with no fees.
3. Gas prices are high and I have to drive 30 minutes to the nearest post office to ship items
2. The business relies the companies that they get their products from to have items in stockwhenever a person places and order
1. I love what I do with this blog and with my other websites. I have always enjoyed helping people and now I can help people learn and also make money while doing so with affiliate marketing. (those google ads in my posts)
Selling online might be for you, and if it is, then I commend you for all of your hard work to make your business and dreams succeed. I know that it is not right for me and I am glad I have found something that I love to do. Do what makes you happy and if you keep it up, then the money will come. Monetizing something you are good at is much easier than something you don’t like doing or are not good at. Pick something you like and stick with it, it will pay off.
