affiliate-programs-rock.com is a site that I found being advertised via adwords on Google. The site is apparently ran by a man named Tissa Godavitarne. It is a very plain site with minimal colors.

The first thing that I noticed was that the picture of “his” house was taken in April of 2007. Why won’t he show a recent picture…unless it isn’t his house. It might be though. I’m just saying that it looks suspicious.

I used an old email address I have to sign up and waited for the confirmation…but I never got one. I waited around 30 minutes but didn’t get one. Oh well, I don’t need it to tell you what this is all about.

affiliate programs rock is not really a scam, but it is kind of shaky. Did you notice that he NEVER tells you how you will be making tons of money? Well his secret is that he runs a people search website. You can type in a persons name and it shows their city, state, and age. In order to get more information, you must register for their newsletter. (which just tries to get you to buy services) You can pay to get a background check/information on the person, which is how “Tissa” makes all of his money.

While the 2nd tier thing that he says may be true, why would he want to help create and host 500 more websites. He would obviously just link them to his main search engine, using your referral link. It is unclear how much you will get paid for doing this. It is also unclear if you will have to buy your own domain name. He may just give you a sub-domain of his website. You would only get paid when someone bought a background check or other pricey service.

As far as I can tell, this really may be free, but you might only make $0.10 per week. However, if he gets 10,000 people to sign up, and they all make $0.10 per week, he might be making $1,000 per week. He will undoubtedly be making more money than you. When affiliate-programs-rock.com / acme-people-search.com tells you that you will not have to pay for any advertising, they are probably telling you the truth. What affiliate-programs-rock.com doesn’t tell you is that they may only pay for 1 visitor for your site, per day, or week, or month.

I don’t think that this is a great way to make money online. You need to do something original rather than try to leech off of affiliate-programs-rock.com Start up a blog/website and use Google Adsense to make money. It worked for me…
