If you have ever started a new website, you know that it is a chore to get the website indexed.  Even if you do everything right, there is still a small chance that your website won’t show up on googles search listings.  In fact, this website didn’t get indexed for 3 weeks.  I had many links spread out over the net and also submitted the site to google and other online directories. 

When you are starting a new website, the best way to get your site to show up on Google is to have many different links spread out over the net.  You can put links on any site, but it would be much more beneficial if you were to try to have more well known sites put a link to your site.  Google loves page links.  It is one of the ways that they determine your page rank.  


You must also have original, regularly updated content.  Google will show your site in a heartbeat if you have information that not other website has.  This should encourage you to get creative with your site.  If your site isn’t listed after a few weeks, try resubmitting it, getting more incoming links, and just overall more advertising.  Using craigslist is a great way to get some traffic to your website, just don’t spam.
